Sharon: Cemi, if it does happen to be real wood underneath, you might be able to remove just the paint with certain chemicals or maybe by sanding the paint off down to the real wood, which can be restored. I'm not sure; just an idea.

Remo: I love the look of wood trim in a home, and I'm surprised at how many older homes I see with woodwork painted over. I'm not sure why it was done so much. I've seen many examples of beautiful wood under paint after it was stripped. D

Stayhomemom: I don't see why it wouldn't be. I would till it up and add fertilizer to the soil just to be on the safe side though. What kind of things are you going to grow in your garden? Let us know how it turns out!
