We know that the best way to get the word out about DecorateTogether.com is by having enthusiastic members share it with family, friends, and the world! But we wanted to add an element of fun and excitement (plus some cold hard cash) for your willingness to help us grow. So, we decided to have a membership drive contest. Here's how it works in 3 easy steps (Join, Participate, and Win):

STEP 1: JOIN - To participate in the contest, become a member of the DecorateTogether.com community. It's FREE to join.  Simply click on this link and complete the short form...

(Note: If you choose not to become a registered member of DecorateTogether.com, you can still participate in this contest. See the "Not A Member" participation guidelines following STEP 3 at the end of this document.)

STEP 2: PARTICIPATE -  Once you're an active member, you're now ready to invite other people to join the community. Not only have we made this step super-easy, but our system will track everyone who joins through your link. Just follow these instructions.

After logging into DecorateTogether.com, you should be automatically taken to your My Account page. And if you ever need to visit your Account anytime, you'll find a link to it in the upper right corner of the web site. Look for this...

In your Account, you should find a box labeled as "Share Your Link!". It contains a Your Promo Link and Your Promo Banner that are encoded with your unique user tracking I.D.  Here's an example:

All you have to do is copy the promo link or banner code and paste it across the Internet where people can see it. When someone clicks on your Link or Banner to visit DecorateTogether.com and they sign-up, you'll automatically get credit for the referral. There are numerous places and options for sharing your Link and Banner. Here are a few:

(Note 1: Identifying the Promo Link url can be tricky sometimes. When you place your mouse pointer over the link and right click, you'll get a pop-up box. Select "Properties" from the list. You should then see a url similar to this one... http://decoratetogether.com/join_form.php?friend=your username 

All you would really have to do is insert your actual DecorateTogether.com username in the area that I've highlighted.)

In addition to the above method for inviting people to join DecorateTogether.com, there is also another great option on your My Account page. Look for a box that is labeled as "Site Navigation - Hot Links". Here's an example:

Click on the link that says Invite Friends. The following form should upload. (Note: In some browsers, the form may load slowly. So please be patient.)

This form is great for inviting friends and family that are already in your online e-mail address books. The two most important tabs on this form are the one's labeled as Freemail Inviter and Community Inviter.  

Freemail Inviter - This is the default tab that you'll first see when the inviter form is displayed. As you can see in the screenshot above, all you have to do is enter your name, email address, and password for any of your Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo or AOL accounts.

When you click on the List My Friends button, the inviter form will access the  address book in your email account and display a list of all your contacts.  You'll then have the option of choosing which friends you want to receive a join invitation.  Then with the single click of button, an invitation email will be sent to all of them. The email will contain your unique link and you can include a personal note if you wish. And don't worry, your passwords and other information are not stored or captured by us.

Community Inviter - This tab works the same way as the Freemail Inviter with one exception. This inviter will access the names of your friends on social communities such as MySpace, Facebook, Friendster, Hi5, and Orkut.

Now, you may be wondering how and where you'll be able to see how many people have joined under your unique tracking link.  No problem. Again, the answer can be found in your Account.  First, you'll be able to view your personal statistics in a box labeled as "Member Info". Here's what it looks like...

In the above example, the number of people who have joined DecorateTogether.com through this user's link is 3....shown on the Referrals line. 

(Note: The points shown on the Lifetime and Contest lines are for all the contributions that you make to the community. We will address those at another time.)

In addition to viewing your own referrals, you'll be able to see whose leading the pack in a box labeled as "Top 10 Inviters". Here's an example...

Now, there's one last thing to be said on this topic. Naturally, we don't want a lot of spam accounts that are created just for this contest. So, we will be monitoring the community for empty accounts and profiles with no content and no activity, and any others that appear to be fraudulent. We reserve the right (at our discretion) to delete such accounts and adjust individual referral numbers accordingly. That's only fair for everyone, right?

STEP 3: WIN -  The membership drive contest will end once DecorateTogether.com reaches 100,000 signed-up members. This could take weeks or months. It's really up to you, your promoting skills and desire!

However, upon reaching 100,000 members, whoever is in the top spots will win the following...

• First Place:         $1,000
• Second Place:    $500
• Third Place:        $250
• Next 10 Places:  $25 each 

In the event of a tie, for example, if the top two people were to have the same number of referrals, the first and second place prizes will be added together and then divided equally. Therefore, the first place prize of $1,000 will be added to the second place prize of $500 and each person will receive $750. If three people tie for first place, then the top three dollar amounts will be added together and divided equally. The next available prize awarded to the person with the second highest number referrals in this three-way first place tie example would be $25.

Not A Member

You can still invite people to join the DecorateTogether.com community by clicking on the "Invite a Friend" link at the bottom of the home page. You must manually track and keep records of the "full" names, usernames, and e-mail addresses of everyone who joins the community as a direct result of your promotion efforts. Each of these individuals must send you an email verifying this fact.

When the community size reaches 95,000, you must provide us with a list of the names and all confirming emails collected to that point. We will begin verifying the names on your list through direct contact with each Member.  Failure to notify us of your participation in the contest prior to us naming the winners will disqualify you from claiming any prize. We reserve the right (at our discretion) to disqualify empty accounts and profiles with no content and no activity, any others that appear to be fraudulent, and any members who do not respond to our verification inquiry within 14 days.

Awarding Prizes

Winners are solely responsible for all taxes and/or fees that may be incurred. All cash winners are required to verify proper and legal picture identification and Social Security number within 30 days of notification of winning the cash prize. Winner may forfeit any and all cash winnings if verification cannot or has not been made within 30 days. Upon proper verification, cash winnings will be awarded by U.S. dollar check, and mailed to winner's mailing address within seven (7) business days hence.

Each prizewinner must supply DecorateTogether.com with his/her legal name, mailing address, birth date, daytime and nighttime telephone numbers, and social security number (for tax reporting purposes).

Winners may not request substitutions of prize winnings. All winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes and/or fees, and all such additional costs that may be incurred.

Neither DecorateTogether.com, DecorateTogether.com sponsors, nor employees of DecorateTogether.com or sponsors may be held liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of usage of any winners of a prize once possession has been taken by winner.

DecorateTogether.com is not liable for any loss arising out of or in connection with or resulting from any contest promoted by DecorateTogether.com.

Management, employees and families of DecorateTogether.com are prohibited from winning any prizes awarded by DecorateTogether.com

Odds of Winning

Odds of winning depend upon the number of members and non-members who choose to participate in the contest. Entry into the contest can occur at any point prior to this community reaching 100,000 members. Further, each contest participant can use their promoting skills to invite as many people as they want to join.

Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winners' names, hometowns and likenesses for publicity purposes without additional compensation. Winners will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail.
